In memory of Mary Mallik

By Nicola Mallik

Mary Mallik
2 August 1945 - 4 January 2022

Mary was a passionate supporter of the Garvan Institute’s work, particularly around cancer research. She often commented that if she had her time again she would want to work for such an organisation.

Although Mary left us too soon, all those who knew her were touched by her love and selflessness. She never met a stranger and thought first, second, and third about others.

It is in this spirit that we ask that you consider a donation to Garvan in Mary’s honour to help others - just as she would.

Thank you to my Sponsors

We loved our Aunty Mary. She was a true light in the family, kind, caring and loving. We feel truly blessed to have had her as part of our life.

In honor of Mum and hoping one day her dream of a cure for all cancer comes true.

Every now and again the Lord shares one of his Angels, but it was time for her to return. I love Mary more than words will ever convey. It's going to be extremely hard without her.

Mary was one of a kind. If more people had her thoughtfulness and compassion, the world would be a better place.

In loving memory of Mary. She fought the hard and long fight but, when hers was lost, she continued batting for others. Her dream was to help find a cure for cancer and together we can help her do that! She may not be here but we, her people, are. Love you Mary and our lives are the richer for you being in it. Mary was so upbeat about life and it was a great pity we were unable to meet during the last few years. Whenever we talked she was full of "go" and we had such fun in our early years in Lincoln when we visited on holiday. My love to you although we have not met and I hope my donation will help towards greater things via the Institute.
