Honouring Pete, Supporting Research
In memory of Peter Kiriakos, Austral Auto Electrics is raising funds to support cancer research through the Garvan Institute.
Pete was our Pete — an everyday bloke, a brother, husband, father, grandfather and son who was loved by so many. Then, out of nowhere, he was diagnosed with bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma), a rare and aggressive cancer with very limited treatment options.
We couldn't believe how quickly this cruel disease took him from us. The impact on our family has been profound, and not a day goes by that he isn't missed.
The Garvan Institute is helping to advance cancer research and improve treatment options for people and families affected by cancer. By supporting Garvan, we're helping fund research that we hope will give others more hope, more options and more time with the people they love.
To honour Pete's memory, Austral Auto Electrics donates $50 from every air conditioning service completed on the first Saturday of each month, with every dollar raised going directly towards vital cancer research through the Garvan Institute.
Our hope is that through continued research, families facing cancers like this will have more treatment options, more hope and more time with the people they love.
