Heart of the Green
When Josh Avvenevole passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition at just 26 years old, his family turned their grief into a powerful legacy. Inspired by Josh's love of bringing people together, they launched Heart of the Green, an annual charity golf day raising vital funds for Garvan's research into inherited cardiac conditions.
What began as a way to honour Josh has grown into a thriving community event, bringing together family, friends and supporters to help drive life-changing research. "People come now who never even knew him, and at the end they say, 'I feel like I know Josh.' That's really special," says his mum, Jenny. Their story shows how one fundraiser can unite a community and help create a healthier future for all.
Like Josh’s family, you can turn your passion into impact by creating your own fundraising event.
