Garvan Institute of Medical Research is a world leader in biomedical research whose goal is to translate discovery into meaningful health benefits for those living with disease- where better understanding, new treatments and more effective diagnosis can have the biggest impact.

Many of the riders and support team, work in the financial services industry and have first-hand experience of seeing clients, friends and family struck down by various diseases. The Pedal for Possibilities Tour is one of the ways this special group of individuals can make a difference.

The riders and the all-important support team of the Pedal for Possibilities Tour are focused on assisting Garvan researchers find the answers, sooner, ensuring a healthier future for all.

We are very grateful to have the support of NEOS Life and the A & S Walsh Gift, Australian Philanthropic Services Foundation for their very generous donations to Garvan's life-changing research.

For Auction - Painting of Laurens ten Dam

This amazing piece of artwork captured the aftermath of a crash Laurens endured whilst competing in the 2011 Tour D’France.

Despite a full ‘over the bars’ fall, hitting the surface head first, Lars was bandaged up and continued riding. This stunning  36” x 24”  painting perfectly captures the incredible guts and determination these modern day gladiators display whilst riding one of the most gruelling physical challenges in the world of sport.

Our artist David Denison was able to personally reach out to the rider (Lars) and receive his blessing on the painting too!

We will be auctioning the painting (via a silent auction) on the night of our Fundraising dinner in WA in February next year. HOWEVER, for anyone keen on putting in a silent bid beforehand is welcome, please contact Reon Botha who will submit the bid on their behalf.
